🔥 Our 7th graders recently hosted an epic Hunger Games Event!
The games featured a variety of multidisciplinary activities that took place both before and during the competition.
Preparation for the Games:
• Students read chapter one of The Hunger Games and summaries of the rest.
• They watched the movie to dive deeper into the characters and plot.
• They became Gamemakers, crafting creative pieces about Capitol-bred animals.
The Reaping:
• Students were divided into groups representing Panem's 12 districts.
• They created maps, district seals, costumes, ID cards, and flags.
The Games:
• Trivia Challenge: Teams answered questions from the book.
• Marshmallow Catapult: Build and launch for distance points!
• Obstacle Course: A two-legged race with puzzles and mazes.
• Math Mix-up: Solve math puzzles inspired by the Hunger Games.
Staff dressed as Capitol workers and supervised the Games. After the challenges, students gathered to discover the winning tributes from each district! What a day of creativity, teamwork, and fun! 🙌

🧼🙌 The Sources of Strength student advisors at Berlin Middle School recently led an inspiring Generosity Campaign—and our students truly rose to the occasion! Over the past few weeks, the BMS student body worked together to collect essential hygiene products to support fellow students within the Berlin Area School District.
Thanks to their kindness and teamwork, our school gathered an incredible 383 hygiene items ranging from shampoo and soap to toothbrushes and deodorant. These donations will go directly to students who need them, helping ensure everyone in our district feels supported and cared for. 🩵🫧
We are so proud of our Sources of Strength advisors and all the students who contributed. Their generosity is a powerful reminder of the strength we have when we build each other up! 💪

🍽️ At BMS and BHS, this special meal will include roasted turkey, cheesy hash brown potatoes, stuffing, corn, cornbread, and pumpkin roll. Also offered will be cheesy broccoli soup, PB&J, or yogurt.
🍗 Clay Lamberton's menu will include roasted turkey, whipped potatoes, corn, a choice of cornbread or roll, and pumpkin roll, along with assorted fruits and vegetables.
💲 Normal lunch fees apply.

🎶 The talented BMS SCC Honor Band students traveled to Wautoma for an unforgettable performance. Dr. Maud Hickey, the middle school guest clinician, led the way with her expertise.
🎷 The event was a blast! Students learned all about preparation, keeping an eye on the conductor, and tuning in to the entire group. With 55 other middle schoolers from nearby districts, BMS truly shined.
