🌯 Recently, our Food Service students spiced things up by making delicious fajitas!
🔪🫑 As part of their dual credit course with MPTC, they applied their ServSafe skills effectively. They washed produce to prevent foodborne illnesses, used separate cutting boards to avoid cross-contamination, and cooked proteins perfectly. This ensured that every bite was safe and delicious!
👏 Well done, students!

❄️ Chilly days, warm hearts! ❤️
Our BHS Education for Parenting class recently teamed up with Mrs. Goettl's second graders for a walk to the park to admire the trees. The older students also lent a helping hand in the elementary classroom.
We're so grateful for the amazing partnership between these two classes!

🎶 The BMS & BHS Holiday Concerts were absolutely amazing last night!

Today, we celebrate the signing of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) in 1975, marking its 50th anniversary. Before IDEA, many children with disabilities were denied access to public education. We've made incredible progress since then!
A heartfelt thank you to all the teachers, staff, and administrators dedicated to supporting our students with disabilities. Your commitment is truly appreciated! ❤️

🥣 For over three decades, the tradition of Stone Soup has been cherished in 1st grade! This special stone has been handed down through numerous teachers over the years. Surprisingly, it creates a delicious soup! Both 1st grade students and teachers add ingredients to whip up a warm meal, all enjoyed on their handmade Thanksgiving placemats! We are so grateful for these little turkeys! 🥰

🔥 Our 7th graders recently hosted an epic Hunger Games Event!
The games featured a variety of multidisciplinary activities that took place both before and during the competition.
Preparation for the Games:
• Students read chapter one of The Hunger Games and summaries of the rest.
• They watched the movie to dive deeper into the characters and plot.
• They became Gamemakers, crafting creative pieces about Capitol-bred animals.
The Reaping:
• Students were divided into groups representing Panem's 12 districts.
• They created maps, district seals, costumes, ID cards, and flags.
The Games:
• Trivia Challenge: Teams answered questions from the book.
• Marshmallow Catapult: Build and launch for distance points!
• Obstacle Course: A two-legged race with puzzles and mazes.
• Math Mix-up: Solve math puzzles inspired by the Hunger Games.
Staff dressed as Capitol workers and supervised the Games. After the challenges, students gathered to discover the winning tributes from each district! What a day of creativity, teamwork, and fun! 🙌
