Tied for the world's highest score? Mind blown! 🤯
The team “Birthday Boy 4869C” made up of seniors Daniel Dunbar and James Paskey, made it to the semi-finals at the Lomira Early Season Kickoff: Blended VEX V5 Robotics Competition. This ranked them in the top 8 teams of the competition. During one round of the tournament portion of the competition, the team beat another alliance 142 to 0 and were told by the referees that they were currently tied for the highest score in the world.
This season's VEX V5 challenge, "Push Back," involves scoring by moving "Blocks" into "Goals," controlling zones, and parking robots in alliance zones by the end of the match. Great job, team! 🎉🤖

☕ The Wordsmiths of Berlin hosted a delightful Coffee Shop Poetry event last evening! Participants of all ages displayed their talents with impressive handwritten poems. 📝

🦃 BASD will have a Fall Feast lunch available to students on Tuesday, November 25th!
🍽️ At BMS and BHS, this special meal will include roasted turkey, cheesy hash brown potatoes, stuffing, corn, cornbread, and pumpkin roll. Also offered will be cheesy broccoli soup, PB&J, or yogurt.
🍗 Clay Lamberton's menu will include roasted turkey, whipped potatoes, corn, a choice of cornbread or roll, and pumpkin roll, along with assorted fruits and vegetables.
💲 Normal lunch fees apply.

⭐ The day will begin with a complimentary breakfast for service members and their families in the BHS commons. Following breakfast, we will gather in the gymnasium to celebrate their patriotism, service, and sacrifice.

🧰 Did you know that BHS offers a DIY Living Class?
This week, students in Mrs. Clark's class got hands-on experience by learning how to cut and remove Romex sheathing, strip insulation from hot and neutral wires, and connect these wires to receptacles and switches.
🔋 Next week, they'll be installing gang boxes and running Romex in their workstations, all leading up to the exciting challenge of wiring a light fixture and a switched receptacle!
These are great life lessons that will be super useful in the future!

👨🍳 In our Food Service class, we're in the Equipment Unit. Students are exploring each piece of kitchen equipment, learning how to use it safely, maintain it, and clean it. Most importantly, they're cooking up some delicious dishes! Today, they tackled the convection oven and made pizza from scratch.
It was super tasty and all students did great!

🌎 The Wisconsin Association of Foreign Language Teachers (WAFLT) has recognized two BHS students for their outstanding performance in Language Acquisition!

📚 On October 29, BHS students had a blast at the UW-Oshkosh Aspiring Titan Teachers Event. This exciting field trip was perfect for those interested in a career in education.
🚶♀️ Students enjoyed workshops, listened to a panel of UWO Education students, and had a chance to ask questions. They also went on a short campus tour and checked out the dorm rooms.
🙌 This was an excellent experience for our students!
