Berlin Area School District delivers innovative educational practices and curriculum in a small-town setting. Berlin’s small size allows its expert educators to personalize learning to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of all of their students. Our staff’s mission is to provide a safe and healthy environment where all students can collaborate, problem-solve, and develop their individual potential.
Through the use of a dynamic and evidence-based curriculum and teaching practices, Berlin Area School District students have been able to achieve great gains in Language Arts and Math achievement. Berlin’s graduation rate continues to be among the highest in the state. Berlin’s Core Knowledge Language Arts, Project Lead the Way, Mystery Science, AP, CAPP, and Document-based Questioning programs throughout the district help students be college and career ready by not only teaching them fundamental skills but also teaching students how to collaborate, and problem-solve, research, manage time, and use technology.
The Berlin Area School District values its role in working with the community to help shape the next generation of citizen innovators here in Berlin. The community values this partnership as well, which is why they donate over $150,000 per year in scholarships to graduating seniors, provide annual internships and mentorships, and collaborate on community service projects. Approximately 45% of our graduating seniors attend a 4-year college, 35% attend a technical college and 10% enter the military after graduation.
