🍎 Throughout your years at BASD, what is one of your favorite memories?
One of my favorite memories of BASD was when our class performed a whole school play called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We performed the play with Mrs. Duffy's class and Mr. Wagner's class. It was a blast! We would have rehearsals over our lunchtime on the stage. Another favorite memory I have was having extended kickball games at Washington and Clay Lamberton in my early years of teaching. My final favorite memory of BASD was being selected to go to Science World with Mr. Tincher.
🍏 What are you going to miss the most?
I am going to miss all of the back to school excitement at the beginning of the year. I will also miss seeing all of my friends and colleagues on a daily basis.
❤️ What are your retirement plans?
In retirement, I plan on spending time with our granddaughter, golfing, traveling, gardening, and teaching our dogs new tricks.

🌍💚 Our Kindergarteners just wrapped up a fun and meaningful unit all about Taking Care of the Earth! We explored where our garbage goes, how we can reduce waste, and why it's so important to look after our planet.
A huge thank you to our local Waste Management team for visiting our class, teaching us about garbage and recycling, and even giving the kids an up-close look at the garbage truck! 🚛 The students were fascinated and had so many great questions — thank you for making learning come alive!
BASD Summer School registration is open and will remain open until Monday, May 19th at 4:00 p.m. for BASD students as well as school-age students who live in the BASD boundaries who attend private school, home school, or other school districts. Today is School Communicators Day, which is celebrated by the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) each year. We would like to recognize Allison Gohlke, our BASD Communication Specialist who works diligently to support the BASD website, social media feeds, and so much more, all in service of getting out the good word about our students, staff, families, and community. Our 4K students at Clay Lamberton Elementary have almost completed their first year of school. We are so proud of them! On Tuesday they performed a few songs for their parents to show off their singing and dancing skills.

✋ Recently, Mrs. Erickson's class engaged in an exciting sensory exploration! Students examined the various properties of each sensory bin, allowing them to use descriptive language in a fun and interactive manner. This hands-on activity provided an enjoyable opportunity for learning while embracing a little messiness! 😊
🐷 Our Kindergarteners had an exciting trip to Kelley's Farmstead! We discovered fascinating facts about adorable baby farm animals and even had the chance to hold some of them. 🐔
After our animal encounters, we set off to Lakeside Park in FDL for a delicious lunch and a day of fun on the giant playground. What a fantastic day of learning and play! ☀️

💰 Recently, some fantastic staff members from Farmers and Merchants Bank visited our first-grade students to teach them the importance of saving money! They engaged the children by reading a book, bringing along money for counting, and encouraging them to set personal savings goals.
