Hello Clay Lamberton Families,
My name is Scott Bartol and I have been the elementary principal at Clay Lamberton School since 2007. I work closely with my administrative colleague, Mrs. Nolan, who is the 4-K through 5th Grade Director of Curriculum and Instruction. We collaborate to make our school the best place possible for students to learn.
The 2019-20 school year will be my 34th year in the Berlin Area School District. Before becoming a principal, I was a classroom teacher at Clay Lamberton, Washington School and Berlin Middle School as well as a coach in a variety of athletic programs. I enjoyed my teaching and my coaching duties and often miss being able to work so closely with a group of students. However, the principal role provides the opportunity for me to have a positive impact of many more students and teachers. Every day is an adventure!
I was born and raised in this community where I attended elementary school at Clay Lamberton School and Saint Stanislaus School before graduating from Berlin High School in 1982. I received my Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from UW-Oshkosh and my Master’s degree from UW-Stevens Point. My administrative license and classes were obtained from Marian College in Fond du Lac.
In my life away from school I enjoy spending time with my two children, Alyse and Olivia. I love the outdoors, especially when I am fishing or hunting in the northwoods of Wisconsin where my friends and I built a small cabin. Sports have always been a part of my life and I still try to help with some areas of coaching, especially basketball! I also enjoy biking and traveling on outdoor adventures.
My parents, siblings and many relatives live in Berlin and I am very fortunate to have so many close family members and friends in my life. I am a member of the Berlin Kiwanis and Green Lake Greenways as well as actively involved in groups and activities with All Saints Catholic Church.
I truly enjoy working with the students and families at Clay Lamberton School. I look forward to getting to know our families better during the upcoming school year. We have several enjoyable family events that I hope you will participate in. Together we can have a positive impact on the lives of our children.
Best wishes for a delightful, learning-filled school year!
