Be sure each entry includes name(s) and email address(es) of the submitter(s).  An email will be sent to each contestant to confirm receipt of the entry.  
Judges: Judging of graphic stories will be done by a 
      panel of three independent faculty judges.
When:    Submissions will be accepted for three school 
   weeks beginning Monday, April 26
     through Friday, May 14. 
Who:   This contest is open to any student enrolled in the Berlin High School.  For this contest, participants may work independently OR with a partner.  Each graphic short story entry must be the work of NO MORE THAN TWO participants.
LENGTH:  10 to 80 panels (Please DO include a title.)
Contest Guidelines: 
  • All entries must tell a fictional story.
  • An image must be included in each panel.
  • Both story and artwork must be the contestants’ own, original work not previously published.
  • Stories must be between 10 and 80 panels long.
  • Dialogue is not required, but is allowed. Captions are allowed, but should be used sparingly. Ideally, the artwork should dominate the storytelling.
  • Fictional genre is open.
  • Each contestant or contestant pair is allowed only one short story entry for the contest.
  • Please avoid profanity, explicit violence or graphic sexual content. Judges have the right to disqualify entries promoting bigotry or material otherwise deemed lacking in literary merit. 
  • Judges’ scoring criteria will include: originality/creativity, plot development, quality of narrative, quality of artwork, and effective use of space.  All contestants will receive feedback from the judges.
  • No entries received after the May 14th deadline will be accepted.
