STUDENT USE OF TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION AND/OR ELECTRONIC DEVICES:

The Berlin Area School District recognizes the legitimate safety purpose that students and parents have in providing students with cellular phones and other two-way communication devices. The Berlin Area School District also recognizes the legitimate education right that students have to learn without the distraction or disruption from the use of two-way devices or other personal electronic equipment.

Cell phones and personal music devices such as iPods may be used before and after school as well as between classes. Use of these devices is prohibited in the classroom and during class time (devices must be turned off and be out of sight during class time), except for educational purposes at the discretion of the instructor. Failure to abide by these guidelines may result in confiscation of the device.
