BERLIN HIGH SCHOOL Why Business Education? |
What Business Education Can Do for Your High School Student
Research shows that over 90% of today’s jobs require computer skills. Students will learn skills necessary to compete in today’s increasingly difficult job market. Many of today’s highest paying jobs are computer related. Computers are everywhere; the goal is to make sure each student is ready for the technological world we live in.
Develop “life skills” needed by all consumers. The information learned in business courses will be applied throughout student’s lives in important decisions related to mortgage agreements, automobile loans, insurance decisions, tax regulations, and many other important personal finance decisions.
Expand your student’s educational options. Business Education courses add new dimensions to learning by using hands on learning approaches. All business courses relate to academic subjects and real world situations. Students always know how what they are learning directly applies to the “real world.”
Provide two educational options in one: college prep and job prep. Most business and computer classes provide subjects necessary to be successful in college or on the job. They include subjects that meet entry-level job requirements of employers in fields related to the classes.
Help your student acquire lifelong skills and habits to apply to any career. Self-confidence, self-awareness, good work habits, problem solving, critical thinking, reliability, teamwork, and leadership are learned in all Business Education Classes.
Broaden your teenager’s life long work and study options. Students have the option to earn up to 35 technical college credits. Business courses prepare students for good paying, satisfying careers in fields such as computers, international business, and entrepreneurship.
Help your student pay for college. The skills acquired in Business Education courses can help students get better, higher-paying jobs. Students can work part time while attending college, especially with higher level computer skills. Students may also work for employers who will assist in paying college education expenses.
Pretest career interests before going to college. With college tuition skyrocketing, explore your career interests before you attend a college and enroll in courses. Explore career interests through these courses: computer applications, networking, accounting, finance, business skills and entrepreneurship.
Provide your teenager opportunities to apply academic content. Business Education courses enable students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems in real-life situations and applications that will be used for a lifetime.
