Fourth Annual Poetry Slam

Poetry Slam

Wordsmiths of Berlin POETRY SLAM 2018

The Wordsmiths of Berlin, our BHS writing club, will host its fourth annual Poetry Slam on Saturday, December 8th at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.  The poetry slam is a poetry performance competition with poet contestants reading or reciting two of their own, original poems.  The top two poets receive trophies and a place on the Poetry Slam champions plaque in our display case. All contestants receive Poetry Slam 2018 medallions and a public venue to voice their poetry.

The competition is open to any local poets high school age or older.  The contest is not limited to Berlin High School student poets; last year a student poet from Ripon won, and we have had numerous adult poet contestants in the past.

To enter, submit two original poems to Mr. Reise via email at least two days prior to the contest.  For more information, check out the official contest poster attached on the on the school website.

The event is free and open to the public, so we encourage non-performing students and community members to come be part of our audience on December 8th.
